Learning Skills 60 Series/
GED Preparatory Program

Taft College offers this 2 unit course to prepare you for the GED exam. There are day and evening classes. It runs for one semester (17 weeks). This class is designed to enable you to pass all five sections of the GED exam, which includes: Writing Skills, Social Studies, Science, Language Arts and Mathematics.

All students enrolled in this class will be given an entry exam. The instructor will go over the results of the test with each student individually and discuss what areas of education need to be worked on. For the remainder of the semester you and your instructor will focus on those areas. At the end of the course you will be given an exit exam. After you have successfully passed this test you will be ready to schedule an appointment through the Counseling Center to take the GED exam.
